LEBNET NEWSLETTER United for Lebanon: The LebNet/LIFE/ILMA Partnership
October 2024
As Lebanon endures an unprecedented series of crises, LebNet, LIFE, and ILMA have come together to spotlight the essential work of NGOs operating on the ground in Lebanon in various sectors. Through the Engage and Act Series, this initiative showcases these organizations' efforts, insights, challenges, and critical needs, all to foster community engagement and support. The series has already featured three impactful episodes, beginning with Arcenciel, Beit el Baraka, and Ruwwad, NGOs dedicated to critical needs in food security, shelter, and healthcare. The second episode spotlighted the Lebanese Red Cross and its essential work in emergency medical care, disaster response, blood donation, and life-saving health services. In response to this series, Jibran Jahshan, LebNet’s Bay Area leader and VP of Software Engineering at NVIDIA, has launched two fundraising campaigns for Beit el Baraka and the Lebanese Red Cross. Inspired by their work, Jibran is rallying his professional and personal network to raise urgently needed funds, with a matching pledge of his own, and has already raised $160K to date. Many U.S.-based companies also match employee contributions, further amplifying the impact of these efforts. Call to Action We invite you to join Jibran’s efforts by reaching out to your companies and networks to support these essential services. Each featured NGO has highlighted the severe shortages and overwhelming demand on their resources. Every contribution makes a meaningful impact, bringing hope and resilience to Lebanon’s most vulnerable. Let’s stand united for Lebanon in these challenging times. Please find donation links to all the featured NGOs here. Jeanine Akiki, LebNet's Executive Director
