New York’s End of Summer Huddle
On August 18th, the LebNet New York community hosted the last of its three summer community huddles.
Around 40 people gathered outside at the cozy Fieldworking Brewing venue on August 25th for a vibrant networking session with other fellow Lebanese living in the area.
“Yesterday’s Bay Area Happy Hour event was a refreshing change after COVID-19. I can’t tell you how proud it made us feel that this new generation is energized and self- motivated. As early founders,we were looking at each other feeling reassured that our 23-year old LebNet is in good hands,” said George Akiki, LebNet president.

In her book titled ‘Elissa Uncovers...The Origin of the Alphabet’, Nancy Zakhour - a LebNet Women in Tech Fundraising Program Lead and Corporate Fellow at University of Houston - describes the journey of a little girl who listens to her grandmother telling her the story of the ancient Phoenicians devising an alphabet in order to communicate with their business partners across the Middle East and beyond.

LebNet and All Girls Code
On August 15, 16, and 17, 2022, the All Girls Code team ran their annual, free immersive summer program, Techsplore, for young girls interested in hands-on tech experience in Lebanon. For the second year in a row, LebNet WiT members ran a workshop on landing tech internships for more than 90 participants.

Training youth in Tripoli, Lebanon: MetaMorph is an NGO that enables the youth by training them on the skills needed to secure a job. They are looking for funding to kickstart their job matching program.
