Effective August 13, 2026, the LebNet Board of Directors is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of Jeanine Akiki as President of LebNet. Jeanine will assume this role in addition to serving as LebNet's Executive Director.

Jeanine succeeds Georges Akiki, a co-founder of LebNet who has served the organization with distinction for 27 years in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as President. This transition reflects a thoughtful and intentional evolution of LebNet's leadership, shaped by the close partnership Georges and Jeanine have developed over the past several years.

Jeanine has played a pivotal role in LebNet's growth. Working alongside Georges, she has helped expand our presence from 10 to 16 cities, grow our community by 200%, and broaden the reach of our programs and events across the network.

But the numbers tell only part of the story. Many of you have experienced firsthand the dedication, energy, and relentless passion Jeanine brings to LebNet, her ability to bring people together, build connections, create momentum, and turn ideas into action. Her leadership has helped strengthen our community and position LebNet for its next phase of growth and impact.

As we celebrate Jeanine's appointment, we also want to recognize and deeply thank Georges for nearly three decades of extraordinary leadership. From LebNet's earliest days to the vibrant global network today, Georges has helped shape not only LebNet as an organization, but the community and sense of connection that make LebNet so special. We are incredibly fortunate that Georges will remain integrally involved in an advisory role, continuing to share his experience, wisdom, and deep commitment to our mission.

We could not be prouder to see Jeanine step into the role of President, supported by a leadership team of four who will work alongside her to take LebNet to a whole new level, building on the organization's strong foundation, expanding our impact, and continuing to build an even more connected global Lebanese technology ecosystem.
