LebNet’s first podcast ‘Brothers Talking Tech’ tackles chip shortage and its effect on the automobile industry

LebNet is launching its first podcast series ‘Brothers Talking Tech’ hosted by Greg Akiki - Senior Director of Quality at GLOBALFOUNDRIES - and Fram Akiki, President at Joun Technologies. 

With over 75 years of combined experience in the tech industry, the two brothers will be regularly engaging in a 5-minute tech discussion on current technical topics in the news in a fun yet highly informative format. 

In the first episode, they discuss the shortage of chips in the automotive industry. Below are the main points they tackle: 

  • Why have semiconductor chips become so important? 
  • What are some of the dynamics (cost, execution) of running a state-of-the art semiconductor fabrication plant (fab) today? 
  • How are chips for automobiles different from chips for smartphones or PCs?
  • What lessons do the automobile OEMs have to learn from the current shortage?
