UMBRELLA - Music Technology Startup:

We’re an early-stage technology company building innovative solutions in music tech. We’re seeking exceptional software developers to join us. Umbrella is going to empower artist to get more gigs and offer innovative solutions to their problems.

Primary Location: San Francisco / New York / Hybrid

Experience Level: 4+ years experience (College CS Level ok)

Employment Type: Full Time

Start Date: Immediate assistance is required, ideally within 2-6 months.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Rust, or Java)
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking

PREFERED SKILLS:

• Experience with modern web frameworks (React, Vue, Node.js, etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Understanding of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Previous internship or project experience • Contributions to open-source projects
• Background in music technology or audio engineering teams

ABOUT THE TEAM:

We’re building something powerful and are looking for engineers who want to be part of the journey from the earliest stages. Currently Umbrella has 2 founders: Jibran and Matthew. Jibran is the CEO graduated from the Chapman University in 2024, with a degree in Finance. Jibran has been going full time on Umbrella for a few months and had a very prominent experience in Tech Sales at Navan, along with venture capital work. Matthew, COO, graduated from the University of Michigan in 2025, with a degree in Economics. Matthew is multiple time founder that has excited one SaaS venture in 2023: Mocean Technologies (the former Bloomberg of Discord). Matthew also runs a hospitality business based out of New York City: Element.
