Business Administration and Operations Intern

Job Description


Wearable Sensing is a San Diego-based company focused on the development of wearable sensors technology and its potential applications. Our first products are wearable wireless brain activity monitoring systems that are opening the door to innovative applications in commercial domains including neuroergonomics, augmented cognition, Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI), neuromarketing, peak-performance training, etc. Wearable Sensing is a start-up that was founded in March 2013 and is actively growing.

POSITION ACTIVITIES:

The Intern will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects and gain hands-on experience in key areas of business administration and operations, which include:

  • General bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and purchasing.
  • Assisting in credit card reconciliations, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Assisting in drafting standard operating procedures (SOP), and document control.
  • Updating customer record management (CRM) and building reports for market insights.
  • Supporting the implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) and inventory system.

SKILLS THE INTERN SHOULD HAVE:

  • Bookkeeping/Accounting- Understanding of principles and experience in QuickBooks.
  • Process Optimization – Knowledge of operating procedures, processes, and workflows.
  • Data Organization – Interest and proclivity in organizational structures and databases.

      STUDENT QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Completed at least 2 semesters of business administration or similar coursework.
      • Self-driven individual who is meticulous and diligently attentive to details.
      • Responsible and independent worker who strives to complete projects on time.
      • Fluency in English, with good communication and computer skills.
      • Flexible team-player who is capable of following instructions.
